Results from the Shinkyokushin / Kyokushin Victorian State Championships - 5 x 1st place, 5 x 2nd & 3 x 3rd:

Kata - novice under 15yrs
πŸ₯‡ 1st - Isha
πŸ₯ˆ 2nd - Ameya
πŸ₯‰ 3rd - Max
(4th) - Eve

Such a strong dominant performance securing all three top spots and a fourth for extra measure!

Kata - novice over 15yrs
πŸ₯‡ 1st - Alana (big things are coming young lady)

Kata - intermediate under 15yrs
πŸ₯‡ 1st - Linkin (wow, look at you go!)

Unfortunately Malakai didn't place but put in a solid effort!

Kata - intermediate over 15yrs
πŸ₯‰ 3rd - Elliott

We had some first timers on the mat, Nathanial and Shaelyn who put in a great effort with some well versed team mates; Rhys and Mandy who also did really well in a big division!

Unfortunately Sempai Lachie and Alex had a whopping division with very strong competitors and didn't come away with a place but represented the dojo with great performances and professionalism.

Non-contact - male under 10yrs
Both Max and Tristan did very well supporting the junior end today, I don't yet know the outcome for Max but Tristan won his first round but lost his second - what a ripper effort for this first timer!

Non-contact - female under 14yrs
Adelle had a very tough division, taking her first opponent to an extension she unfortunately didn't get the flags today but had another great learning experience.

Adelle also stepped up to help me in the coaches seat for the one-matches after her padded opponent withdrew, a disappointing outcome after training so hard but, she took it like a champ and still had a good day - osu πŸ‘Š

Non-contact - female open
πŸ₯‰ 3rd - Mandy

Non-contact - male under 18yrs
πŸ₯‡ 1st - Rhys
πŸ₯ˆ 2nd - Elliott

Padded one-matches:

πŸ₯ˆ Eve rose to the challenge today and showed true courage at the young age of 10, her third time on the mat she didn't come away with the win but did achieve a wazari - woohoo!

πŸ₯ˆ Liam had a tough aggressive fighter, he tried a few tactics but in the end, timing didn't quite work for him today. Chalk it up to another one under the belt mate and we go back to the drawing board.

πŸ₯ˆ Malakai also had a dominant opponent and lost to a wazari, another courageous effort facing off against a much heavier opponent and standing his ground.

πŸ₯‡ Linkin had a much taller opponent but dominated with a strong work rate, agressive style to get all five flags at the end - another solid performance that required him to push to the whistle.

Today was a great day for our club, a BIG thank you to our coaches, Sempai Mel and Sempai Liz, Sensei Caleb who also juggled refereeing and of course the amazing parents who supported all of our students right to the end. You guys just go with the flow and make sure everyone is looked after - thank you πŸ™

A huge thank you to Shinkyokushin and Hanchi George Kolovos for another fantastic event, it continues to be one we look forward to each year. It is such an enjoyable experience for our members, showcasing professionalism and support across many dojos.

A BIG shout out to Sempai Nat Texler who was the draw wizard behind the scenes and on the day. I'm glad I could lighten your load by passing the blu tack! A mammoth job conducted with incredible organisation and skill, well done πŸ™

Bring your bling in tomorrow peeps, we have much to celebrate - OSU! πŸ†

The grading is also only 4 weeks away - you can never be too prepared so make the most of available classes, you'll regret it if you don't!
