Another younger GIVCA cricketer has broken through, being named in the over 55 Australian team to tour New Zealand in Feb 2026.

Paul Clarke has been named for this tour.

Kudos to the Greater Illawarra O40s White! Formed just two weeks before the Veterans Cricket NSW O40s State Championship—thanks to a rallying call from Hunter Valley’s Dan Storey—the team overcame a slow start, finishing strong with three consecutive wins to secure 5th place in Division 2.

The 40's state carnival is up to the finals today.

In division 1, Greater Illawarra is playing off for 3rd place @ Figtree oval at 9:30 this morning.

The division 2 greater Illawarra team is in the final, being played at Keira oval, also @ 9:30.

Good luck to all teams, play well and stay injury free.

GIVCA has three players make the Australian team in the over 60's.

It's time now for the younger age groups to step up.

A huge congratulations to Glenn Cleary who has done just that, as he has been selected in the Australian 50's touring squad to new Zealand in February 2026.

GIVCA is a nursery for over age cricketers, four in Australian teams and counting.

Well done Glenn, stay fit and play well!

Are you a cricketer over 55 years of age by the end of 2026?

GIVCA invites you to nominate for the upcoming NSW state championships to be held in Tamworth on 22,23,24 February 2026.

We have nominated two teams, one in division 1, the other in division 2.

Nomination costs are expected to be in the $200 range. This cost is nomination fees, and does not include travel, accommodation, meals or entertainment while in Tamworth.

Email the GIVCA secretary ([email protected]) to express interest by 13 December.

A panel has been convened to select these teams from the nominations received.

The 60's and 55's have had their national championships, now it is the 50's turn. The 50's are playing in Brisbane.

The Greater Illawarra is well represented:
