Introducing the Mersey Rowing Club Coaching Team for 2026/2027

As we prepare for the 2026/2027 season, we are pleased to introduce the Mersey Rowing Club coaching team.

Pictured from left to right are Marcel Brown, Mark Clemens, Simon Spaulding, David Tippett and Pru Tippett.

Our coaches bring a wealth of experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to the club and are committed to creating a supportive environment where rowers of all ages and abilities can learn, improve and enjoy the sport.

From our Learn to Row participants through to our competitive athletes, the success of our programs relies heavily on the dedication of volunteers who generously give their time to support others. The hours spent planning, coaching, mentoring and encouraging our members often go unseen, but their impact is felt throughout the club.

A sincere thank you to our coaching team for the commitment, passion and countless hours they invest in supporting our members and helping our athletes achieve their goals. Mersey Rowing Club is fortunate to have such a dedicated group leading our programs.

There’s always a place for new members at Mersey Rowing Club. We’d love to welcome you to our rowing community.

Hi Everyone

Australian Rowing Championships - Lake Barrington from Monday, March 23rd to Sunday March 29th 2026

As most of you would be aware, the Australian Rowing Championships are coming to Lake Barrington from Monday, March 23rd to Sunday March 29th 2026, and the Mersey Rowing Club (MRC) has been given the opportunity to volunteer for boat holding duties at the start pontoon on Monday, March 23rd,

With two session Morning and Afternoon – once we are informed of the draw we will have a more information for start times etc. We are calling for members, family, and friends to assist as boat holders on this day. A minimum of 10 people is required to cover each session. You can volunteer for one or multiple sessions depending on your availability.

For those who have not experienced this task before it involves holding the stern of the rowing shells out on the start fingers, communicating with the umpire aligning the boats ready for the start of the race. No prior experience is needed, and you will be briefed on the day as to the do`s and don’t` s.

This is a helpful fundraiser for the club to continue in a financially stronger position, benefiting the club and its members.

Contact myself Leigh Barker 0428 105 467 or reply to Stack teams or text me of your availability with a simple - Yes Morning or Yes Afternoon,
