You may have noticed some works going on at the throws' areas at Rhonda Diano Oval.
Thanks to SFAC funding through Alice Springs Town Council, the throws circles have been replaced, and the landing sectors will be getting a makeover in the coming weeks. Anchor points will also be installed at each circle to cater for athletes who use a throwing frame to compete. This will be a great addition to the facilities to cater for athletes with a disability.
Thank you to Athletics Northern Territory for their work in securing the funding for this project to come to fruition.
It will be great to have the new circles, and landing sectors ready for the upcoming Alice Springs Masters Games.

Thanks to everyone you attended our end of season celebration last night. There was fun activities for everyone, followed by Certificates of Excellence presented to everyone who competed in our Sunday competitions and competed in Championships in Darwin, followed by a sausage sizzle.
The certificates presented to the athletes listed their 2026 personal best performances for each event they competed in throughout season, and were presented by Olympian Angie Blackburn.

Angie was in Central Australia as part of the Olympics Unleashed program, delivered by the Australian Olympic Committee. Angie represented Australia at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics as a member of the 4x400m Relay team.
Some of our athletes enjoyed challenging Angie to a short race. They can now say they have raced an Olympian.

Thank you to Fiona who was a technical official for the championships, appointed as a Chief Judge - Field events. Our club is lucky to have your knowledge and skills to help with the delivery of the championships.

Thank you to Sharon who helped out as a volunteer at field events. Your support ensured the events were run fairly and efficiently.
