MEET THE ATHLETE | KIERA HEFFERNAN

Kiera Heffernan will represent Territory Storm at the 2026 Super Netball Reserves Finals, bringing versatility and energy to the midcourt.

Standing at 167cm and capable of playing WD, WA and C, Kiera has previously represented the Northern Territory, including at the 2024 National Netball Championships.

Since taking up netball at just five years old, Kiera has developed her game through a willingness to learn and embrace new ways of thinking.

One piece of coaching advice in particular has stayed with her throughout her journey.

“A coach gave me an imaginary line to help with my timing as a WA. It was an absolute game-changer for me as a visual learner.”

For Kiera, representative netball is about much more than what happens on court.

“Make the most of the experience, not just on the court but off the court. Make lifelong friends on these sorts of trips.”

Inspired by the strength and determination of Jessie Laga’aia, Kiera continues to build her game while embracing every opportunity to learn and grow.

Having progressed through representative netball in the Northern Territory, Kiera understands the value of stepping outside her comfort zone, taking on new challenges and making the most of the experiences that come with wearing NT colours.

As she prepares for Territory Storm, Kiera is looking forward to continuing her development while proudly representing the Northern Territory against some of the country’s best emerging talent.

Congratulations Kiera on making the Territory Storm team👏🏻 Everyone at Rovers incredibly proud of you and can't wait to ...

A big thank you to McDonald’s Alice Springs for coming on board and sponsoring our Rovers umpires for the 2026 season 🍟🏐❤️💙🤍

Their support plays a huge role in helping us grow and develop the next generation of umpires through ASNA's Umpire Development Program (UDP). UDP is such an important part of keeping netball strong in Alice Springs.

We’re excited to see Inez, Maddie, Hayley and Nixie building their confidence and skills this season. Be sure to cheer them on and show your support around the courts.

And next time you grab a coffee, frozen coke or burger, make sure you get down to McDonald’s and support the business that’s backing our club and future umpires. See less
