Different kind of racing this weekend, Couple nights at Red Centre BMX Alice Springs.

Keen to be back on the bike and racing the NT Titles not so sure about the peddling part though missing the seat and 900 horse power.

Chariots of Thunder Night Three:

Fired up the JTM #27 car in engine starts without a drama, but hot laps showed an ominous oil issue; Jet re-fired for a qualifying attempt but pressure never came up, so he played the smart card and pulled in.

We didn’t to race the last night of Chariots of Thunder but we’re coming home proud: driver and car intact, spares untouched.

Big thanks to the crew and sponsors—we’ll hustle, refresh this motor, drop in the other motor and be back stronger for Speed Week down South at Christmas Time.

Jet and the JTM Sprintcar clocked the fastest lap of the night in the Chariots of Thunder 'A Main' Night 2.

'A Main' here we come again.

Two nights in a row - it's no fluke.
It's having the car set up, 'on song' and pure driver skill.

Mid pack shuffle - you start like a heat race with the mid pack of the 'A Main' and if you makeup spots you start there for the actual main.

Jet was unlucky to be caught up in a spin in the second lap and bumped with a rear.

On the outside of the track we weren't sure if there was any damage to the but they formed up again and he carved his way through to 5th!

This means we are starting the "A Main" from P13.

A couple of quick fixes after qualifying, and we were out in Heat 2.

Started from position 6 and lost a position, but with some gritty high laps and with a smooth overtake on the bottom, Jet brought it home in 5th.

Engine starts - done.
Hot Laps - happening.
JTM #27 is up to qualify from 24th spot.

For those new to the sport:

Engine starts are getting pushed with enough speed up to start the car as sprinters don't have a starter motor.

Next is hot laps - a short practise session to assess the track and get the feel for the car.

Finally qualifying - depending what position you got in the lucky dip, you start in pairs and race the fastest two laps you can and your quickest lap, when measured against all the competitors, then determines your positions for the first heat.

Let's see what night two brings.

Day 2 of of Thunder:
We are washed, prepped and close to ready!

Recap of Day One - Jet earned his spot with a gritty qualifying run, and punched straight into the A Main—no B Dash, no B Main.

He ran mid-pack all night, finishing well in 14th position. With Australia’s best sprintcar drivers in this national showcase, this result is a humbling triumph moment for Jet Thompson Motorsport.

Edit - Qualified in position 10!!!!

We are position 29 for qualifying - not where we had hoped to be but the track can change a lot from the first qualifiers to the last.

From here it's all up to Jet - to do what he does best.
