Ripley Sporting Clays recently hosted their first 2 day event on 15/16 August. The SSAA Qld sporting clay championships attracted a large number of keen competitors to battle through the 200 target sporting event. As a warmup to the 'BIG ONE' a 50 target side x side competition on the Friday accommodated the early birds who wished to camp on the range over this shooting weekend.
Fine weather was forecast and the Course Setter - Dan Mckiernan planned the grounds in anticipation for some windy moments on the Sunday. Each of the 12 shooting stands warmed competitors up with some initial single targets then report pairs and to cap it off, the simultaneous pairs were there for the taking.
With 100 targets per day to get through, the efficient office staff ended each day's course by early afternoon.

In conjunction with the 200 target state event a team of 4 top competitors shall be invited to represent SSAA Qld at the 2027 New Zealand National Championships. The following ten competitors comprising 6 reserves are listed by their aggregate percentage from the recent State Event and by their availability to travel to NZ in February 2027 shall represent SSAA Qld in a goodwill competition with NZ finest at their National Championships.

In the event of a tied percentage score available for selection, the result shall be determined from the first 100 targets from the SSAAQld State Event.
