PEGS Cricket Club

Proud club, rich history, bright future. PEGSCC is a proud club with a rich history that includes 25 premierships since the club was founded in 1966.

Players such as Test batsman Les Joslin and Dennis Pagan donned the maroon and blue, and the current crop of players are ensuring the future will be just as bright as the past. The club fields four senior teams in the Victorian Turf Cricket Association. For its first 44 years the club was located at the East Keilor campus of Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School. The club relocated to the newly developed PEGS Sports Fields for the 2011/2012 Season, a facility that has recently been judged to boast the best turf wickets in the VTCA. The club has recently rebranded from its Old Essendon Grammarians Banner and will commence Season 2012/2013 as PEGS Cricket Club. New players of all ages, skills and experience are always welcome.

Exciting news as the 🇧🇧 Duo return!

PEGS Cricket Club is proud to announce the re-signing of two outstanding cricketers for the 2026/27 season.

Omar returns for his 3rd season at PEGS. A former West Indies Test Cricketer. His experience at the highest level, professionalism and leadership continue to be valuable both on and off the field for us. Scoring his maiden PEGS 100 last season , we look forward to what he has in store for us this season 💯

Shakeem is back for his 6th season with the club. Former 1st XI Captain, he has built an incredible legacy finishing as the club’s leading wicket taker and the competition’s leading fast-bowling wicket taker for the past three consecutive seasons along with being named in VTCA Team of the year for the last 3 seasons. His experience from playing around the world continues to set the standard for our playing group.

From Barbados to PEGS, these two have become a huge part of our club’s identity.
