🏐 Mixed Social Netball FAQs 🏐
Thinking about joining our Mixed Social Netball season? Here’s everything you need to know! 👇
When does the season start?
Our season kicks off Wednesday, 7th October, with games played every Wednesday night until December 2nd.
When is registration night?
Registration night is Wednesday, 16th September. This is when you’ll officially register for the competition. We’ll need all player details and registration information.
If you’re registering on behalf of your team, you can also submit all of your team’s details and payment on the night.
How much does it cost?
It’s $20 per player or $200 per team. Every dollar raised goes directly towards funding the Agnes Water Kookaburras.
The competition is run entirely by volunteers, so your support helps us keep the competition going while supporting our local club.
How many players do we need per team?
You need at least 8 players on a team. We recommend 9–10 players per team. There are 7 players on court per team, with substitutes able to rotate after each quarter. Having a few extra players makes it much easier to manage those weeks when someone can’t make it — or simply needs a break!
Do I need a full team to join?
No! You can join with friends, a partner, or even come along on your own to registration night. We will get you connected with a team.
How many males can be on my team?
Teams can have a maximum of 3 males on court at any one time. You can have additional male players as substitutes, as long as there are no more than 3 males on court during play.
This means you can have as many male players on your team as you like — just remember, only 3 can be on court at once!
Are games umpired?
Yes! All games have umpires, so you can focus on playing and enjoying the game.
What age do I need to be?
Players must be 16 years or older, unless prior approval has been given.
What should I wear?
Comfortable sports clothes and sneakers. You’re welcome to wear a team uniform but it’s not essential. We supply each team a set of bibs on game nights.
Do I have to commit to every game?
Not necessarily! Attendance is something you sort out amongst your team. This is why having 9-10 players on your team is a great idea — it gives you more flexibility when players are unavailable.
Do we play on rainy days?
Yes! The courts are undercover so rain, hail or shine the games will go on!
What time are the games?
Game times will depend on the number of teams that enter the competition. At this stage, we anticipate games will be scheduled between 4:00pm and 7:00pm. Final game times will be confirmed once registrations have closed.
