A very productive day.
Picked up some bits and pieces for the funny car build.
Started the supercharger rebuild while watching the Winternats. Maybe using kids tables and chairs.
And continued the mock up in the shed.

A little history for everyone.
My Grandfathers drag car / wheelstander from the mid 1960s. A Pontiac straight 6 powered Ford Prefect. Brooksfield South Australia.
And my Dads drag car from the mid 1970s. A hot 1500cc, 4 speed Mk 1 Cortina. Adelaide International Raceway, South Australia.

Getting ready to undercoat the body and start fabricating mounts for the motor and trans. After that, its just everything!

The big transplant has begun.
Still not sure what to do about the damaged supercharger. I do know that Kieley wants her dining room table back though. Booooo.

Prefer second hand 8/71 thats in ok condition.
Turns out my old 6/71 may not longer be in good condition!

Kieley O'Connell and I headed up to the Steel City Nats to volunteer as officials over the weekend. Great bunch of characters and despite the early rain, we got the track pumping. Congratulations to all the winners and organisers for a top event. Shout out to Mandy Hartmann for all her hard work and on her retirement!
P.S. I did lots, Kieley sat around.

Mixed weekend at the Whyalla Steelcitydragclub. Muttley had a part fail which put Kieley O'Connell out for the weekend. Brand new harmonic balancer split the outer ring off. Thanks to Auto One Clovercrest for sorting the warranty for us.
First time on a Mod Bike and first time racing the Suzuki 750 too. In fact first time on a bike on a drag strip. NOT the first time dressing in leather though 😂😂😂.
I spent Saturday learning how to do everything safely.
Sunday I was fortunate enough to win 3 rounds and end up in the final with Bryan Finn. I messed up the start, bogged it down off the line and Finny as usual was spot on and won.
Thanks to all the 'bike guys' for their advice and help. Definitely a great bunch of weirdo's.

Wish us luck! Heading to the Grand Finals in Whyalla this weekend. Muttley has been to the vet and hopefully will be back lifting wheels and kickin butts.
I will be on the dragbike for the first time, should be fun. I mean, if you include the wheelie bars it has 4 wheels, so it must be safe, , , , , right ?
