After a hectic 48 hours, I’ve sold my Mustang and bought us a new race car.

Meet Shadow. 🖤🏁

He’ll need a bit of work before he’s ready to hit the track, but with Deb needing time to heal and recover, I’ll have plenty of time to get stuck into him.
This marks the beginning of a new chapter for OFR-SHADOW RACING, but a big part of Sonic will be coming with us.
Sonic’s brain and heartbeat will live on in Shadow, with his engine and FuelTech going into the new car. Sonic may not return to the track, but a part of him will still be there every time Shadow fires up and heads down the strip. 💙🖤
A new car. A new chapter. But Sonic’s story isn’t quite over yet.

Update on the patient ❤️

Deb is still in Alice Springs Hospital following her accident at Alice Springs Inland Dragway, but I’m happy to say she’s improving every day.

Yesterday was a big step forward — she managed to sit up for the first time since Friday. Today’s goal is to get her standing and, hopefully, even take a few steps.

Still a long road ahead, but every little bit of progress is a win. Thanks again to everyone for all the messages, calls, love and support. It really does mean a lot to both of us.

A special thank you to Rick Phitzner for organising the GoFundMe for us, and a huge thank you to every single person who has donated. We’ve been absolutely blown away by the generosity and support from everyone. It means more to us than we can put into words.

Unfortunately, our debut round of the ANDRA Championship at Alice Springs Inland Dragway didn’t go the way we hoped.

During Test & Tune, I had a high-speed crash with both front and rear impact. I’ve came away lower thoracic fractures and severe bruising, and unfortunately Sonic has also suffered significant damage.
What we really want to say, though, is a huge and heartfelt thank you to our amazing drag racing friends and family.
The love, help and support we have received since the accident has been absolutely overwhelming. From those who were there and immediately stepped in to help, to everyone who has called, messaged, checked on us, helped with Sonic and the trailer, or simply been there for Mick and me — we are more grateful than words can express.
To every single person who has supported us — you know who you are. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We will never forget the kindness you have shown us.

Mick is loving his new hoist as we get SONIC ready for the first round of the ANDRA season at Alice Springs Inland Dragway!

Sonic had his maiden voyage up on the hoist for an oil change to make sure he’s ready to go.

While Mick’s been working hard in the shed, I’ve been doing the equally important job of keeping the shed warm and toasting marshmallows. 😂🔥
