On behalf of the Modbury Sports and Community Club Management Committee, we would like
to welcome all members, families, volunteers and supporters to 2026 and to the exciting
beginning of our new club facility.
2025 was a year of great change for the club and this year marks a significant milestone as we
forge ahead in our new modern home that provides an incredible opportunity to grow participation, strengthen community connections and enhance the experience for everyone who walks through our doors. While there is still work underway behind the scenes, we are proud of the progress being made and grateful for the patience, support and enthusiasm shown
by our members.
As we move into the season ahead, the Committee remains committed to ensuring the facility is functional, welcoming and reflective of the strong community spirit that defines Modbury. We look forward to sharing this journey with you and seeing the Club thrive in its new surroundings.
The Management Committee is pleased to share the latest updates as we continue to progress
key projects and prepare for 2026 and beyond.
Strategic Direction Our Strategic Plan for 2025–2030 is nearing completion and is scheduled to be released within the next fortnight. This plan will outline the Club’s priorities, growth opportunities and long-term vision. The Strategic Plan will be complemented but an Implementation Plan to focus the work of the Management Committee and supporting aligned decision making.

The Lucky Wheel: The Wheel will recommence in the coming weeks, bringing back a
popular and familiar part of Club life.

Infrastructure & Fit-Out Updates
Memorabilia: As you know, while we are excited for our future we are extremely proud of our history. The new digital honour board is expected to be fully functioning in the Members Lounge in the coming weeks, while the finishing touches on the memorabilia wall are progressing – wait for the final outcome, it won’t disappoint.
Equipment Shed: Confirmation has been received that the new equipment shed will be installed in the coming months. This will be located near the carpark entrance on Hazel Grove.
Interactive Technology: Rayjon, a proud sponsor, has supplied two top-of-the-range interactive television screens, on wheels, for our members. This further enhances the modern feel and functionality of the Club.
Outdoor Balcony Furniture: New balcony furniture is on order and expected to arrive in the coming weeks, creating a welcoming outdoor space for members and guests.
Coaches’ Boxes: These are currently in the planning stage and are expected to be
completed close to Round 1.
Landscaping: You may note that some of landscaping of the oval surrounds has taken a
beating in the summer heat. This is under discussion with Council, with improvements
identified moving forward.
Staffing & People
The Management Committee will be progressing the hiring process for both kitchen and bar
staff in the coming weeks. As we look to support our current staff and ensure consistent
operations and improved member experience.
If you or anyone you know is interested in Kitchen or Bar related work, be that paid or volunteer,
please contact Club Secretary Ryan Richards at [email protected]
Facility Training
Volunteers are crucial to the success of the Club and we are committed in supporting you to be
confident in the new facility. We will be facilitating a dedicated day of training for volunteers, to
formally walk through the operation of the new facility, including but not limited to how to use
the oval lighting, the scoreboard, kitchen/canteen appliances and other key infrastructure to
ensure smooth, correct and confident use by volunteers in the delivery of their duties.
