Introduction
In December 2024 the club changed name from Whyalla Harriers Amateur Athletic Club, to reflect our evolved broader direction. Active for over 50 years in one form or another, the club was orginally a competitive road and c

ross country club since 1971. Objectives
The primary purpose of the Club is to provide opportunities for community members of all ages and abilities to participate in running and related sports and recreational activities, promote health and well-being, and foster a sense of belonging and social cohesion within the Whyalla and region area. The Aims of the club include:
a) To promote and encourage health and fitness in the community by providing events and activities that invite participation by members and the wider community. b) To promote running and walking as a means of achieving physical and mental fitness and health. c) Promote social connection between members that is inclusive and accepting of differing abilities. d) Provide a degree of challenge that is within individual capability but stretches their view of what they can achieve. e) Supports members achieve their health and fitness goals particularly through running and walking. f) Engage with other like minded clubs and associations through support and participation in events they are promoting, and encouraging participation. g) Recognising members’ health and fitness achievements and supporting their challenges. h) Make a positive contribution to the community through encouraging participation in community events, regular club events and running and walking training sessions, and sponsorships and donations that promote these aims. Since 2024 we have held the Whyalla Runing Festival in August featuring a flat course of various distances up to Halh Marathon. Kids events are also a great family attraction. Massive congratulations to all who came out and had a go at the 2026 Whyalla Running Festival today. The rain and stormy forecast conditions just held off for the entire race and resulted in some magnificent running conditions. Great to see some quality half-marathon running and truck loads of kids on the start line. Plenty of smiles, a little bit of vomit and plenty of sneaky sunshine made for a great day.

Thanks again to all our major sponsors, INTERSPORT Whyalla, Anytime Fitness Whyalla, Harcourts Phillis and the Whyalla City Council. Super special thanks to all our volunteers and Kingy from King Signs to help get our runners around safely, especially considering the forecast. Well done to all our category winners. Results are up and available for review.

Plenty of photos to come.
