Today I went for a run.
It was hard, but I have explained it this way - it was hard because my body is trying to remember running, it doesnβt seem long on the calender, but it's amazing how quickly your legs forget what they are supposed to do, when they do next to absolute nothing for 6 - 8 weeks.
It was hard in the sense that I had to give them a stern talking to, no one ever died of sore legs - right? π
In January I went for a couple of runs and it was terrible, again, it was hard, but what I have explained as impossibly hard, even just a couple of kilometres and I was exhausted and my legs were screaming F off! And my heart rate was π It was not normal for me, and honestly scary.
The storm had arrived.
March 1st I walked 1.6km in 35 minutes and nearly passed out afterwards, but even that was improvement on the days before. Swipe to see that huge Strava achievement π
On about March 8th we turned an obvious corner.
I can feel the difference between those weeks - things aren't impossibly hard anymore.
And may I say; Hyperthyroidism and Thyroiditis can continue off into the distance and never ever return !! I'll probably never know what infection what body was fighting, but it sure picked an ingenious 'illness' to make me sit the F down. And for that I strangely congratulate it π€·πΌββοΈ
