ne massive Motorsporting event in November. Our state has the money to do it and can put us once again on the World Map. Many complain about the noises or that it costs too much and that is not true, so do you rather have a city of boredom? The sounds are absolutely amazing and all the international attention that it brought was phenomenal. The Formula 1 Grand Prix brought the state to life, we had great attendance records every year from 1985-1995. Our massive attendance record was 520,000 in 1995 over the 4 day period, there was a lot of overseas visitors and the Tourism Industry soared to new heights and millions from around the world tuned in and watched the Grand Prix. Our state was alive. The drivers and teams absolutely loved the atmosphere here in Adelaide, it brought a huge excitement and buzz around the city, even the build up to the event every year was fantastic. It even brought some major celebrities. Ayrton Senna loved our track and it was his favourite just like Monaco, he was unhappy like many other drivers and the Formula 1 world when in 1993 they learned that the SA Government were getting rid of it and letting Melbourne take it away from us. Millions of people miss the event and it should return back on the Grand Prix Calendar. Another great idea is that the South Australian and Victorians Governments come to an agreement and put that interstate rivalry a side (who cares about it seriously, just leave it for AFL & A-League! Keeping the Formula 1 in Australia for our Tourism Industry and the Economy is more important for BOTH cities!) and split and share the hosting fee and alternate the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix from 2016 onwards so that it ensures that Australia keeps the Formula 1 Grand Prix on our soil! If the German GP can alternate Hockenheim & Nurburgring and the Spanish GP can alternate Barcelona & Valencia and soon Belgium/France with Spa & Paul Ricard alternating why can't Australia alternate? It is a great way to stop the whiners complaining about the costs. It is a great solution to stop the whiners giving the Pinnacle of Motorsport a bad name! So come on Adelaide and fans of Formula 1, let's convince the SA Government that Adelaide needs the Grand Prix and to put us once again on the World Map. Let's get the SA Government's attention and demand for them to bid for it to bring it back! Our famous street circuit is rated alongside Monaco as one of the best in the world. 2021 onwards, the Grand Prix must return back to it's true home before it could be lost forever. It would be great to see the Ferraris, McLarens, Williams, Mercedes, Lotus etc. back racing on the streets of Adelaide as well as the current and upcoming stars of Formula 1!
