💚 The Future is Bright 💛

The moments that shape us aren’t always the ones where everything goes right. Sometimes they’re the ones that test our heart, our courage, and our determination to keep going.

This week you won every race leading into the final, posted the fastest laps, and represented Australia with pride. The final didn’t go your way, and that’s okay.
At just 12, you’ve already worn three World Plates and been a World Champion. How could World No. 6 ever be considered a failure?

The biggest victories aren’t always on the podium. They’re learning to handle pressure, finding perspective in disappointment, and having the courage to come back stronger.

Your worth has never been measured by a number plate. It’s measured by your character, your resilience, and the way you carry yourself. The messages of encouragement and support this week have meant more than any result ever could. They reflect the impact you’ve had on those around you, the kindness you show, and the integrity and respect with which you race. They remind us exactly the kind of champion you’ll continue to be.

A week spent doing what you love, catching up with Aussie and international friends, making new memories, and sharing both the highs and the lows together. Seeing other World Champions openly share their own disappointment was a reminder that setbacks are part of every champion’s journey.

It was also incredibly special to line up in the final alongside three amazing Australians Harla Sinclair BMX INDY ERICH and all of whom earned their World Plates. We couldn’t be prouder of you all 🫶🏻

People say, “Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.” We believe that if you have the courage to learn from every experience and come back stronger, then you’ve never truly lost.

If this week has shown us anything, it’s that the future is incredibly bright. We’re so proud of you. Congratulations to everyone who earned a World Plate this week, and to everyone who gave it everything. What an incredible experience. 💚💛🇦🇺

With Worlds just around the corner, a reminder from one of the families who has been there before...

Yes, pressure is a privilege. So is having the opportunity to represent your country, chase a dream and stand on one of the biggest stages in the sport. But don’t forget they’re still kids!

Having experienced the highs of a World Championship Win, we can honestly say the number on the plate isn’t what we’re most proud of.

We’re proud of the courage it takes to get on the gate. The bravery to believe in yourself, to chase a dream. The resilience to keep showing up. The persistence to keep pushing personal limits. The kindness shown to others. The humility, composure and character displayed when everyone is watching and more importantly when no one is watching.

Most importantly, we’re proud that Penny still loves what she does. Preparation for something they love shouldn’t feel like a chore. The journey shouldn’t be built on pressure, fear of failure, bribes or threats. Kids need the freedom to enjoy the process, because if they don’t enjoy the journey, the destination will never be enough.

Some of our favourite training memories aren’t training at all. They’re hikes, adventures, trying new things, laughs with friends, family time and simply being active together. That’s where the magic happens because there is no such thing as an elite 12 year old.

Our advice is that on competition day the training is done. The work is done. Trust it. Let them laugh. Let them explore. Let them make memories. Let them be kids.

Success is raising a happy, confident, capable child with good mental health, strong values and a sense of self-worth that exists far beyond their sport.

Because long after the medals are forgotten, the person they become will always matter more than the result they achieve 🌈

Had a great day of racing at round 1 of the Giant Adelaide CX Crossfire Cup Cross Keys BMX Club
Needless to say the kids had the advantage on the BMX track but the rest of the course was certainly a fun challenge! Super proud of their efforts and results

Isabella 🥉 B Grade Women
Penelope 🥇 Junior B Girls
Lars (yes Lars even rode!) had a ball on his MTB in his Soccer Jersey 🤪

Thanks Port Adelaide Cycling Club for hosting a great meet and welcoming the Blackwells to a new discipline in cycling 🚴‍♂️
