Spring is just around the corner, so here are my favorite places to go in Argentina this time of year.

Follow me for more Argentina travel advice!

1. Bariloche and the surrounding 7 Lakes Region.
You’ll still have cold nights and mornings but the days are gorgeous and there are no crowds yet!

2. El Bolson
Get the popular trails like Cajon Azul all to yourself when they open mid October and enjoy the beautiful spring blooms along the roadside.

3. Trevelin
The tulip field is open from October 7 through November 7 this year, so plan accordingly and book your accommodation ASAP.

4. Buenos Aires
The city is at its best in November when the jacarandas bloom

5. Iguazu Falls is a great destination year round but shoulder season crowds are always ideal and you beat the peak season summer heat as well

6. Peninsula Valdés
Spring lets you see penguins, southern right whales, elephant seals, sea lions, guanaco, and more all at once.

How I slowly became more Argentine…

I didn’t jump in and embrace all the small (but important) aspects of life here. I was stubborn for years on some things - like slowing down my pace of life and embracing long meals or accepting that fourth meal.

But next year will be 17 years in Argentina and it’s slowly won me over and now I can’t imagine life any other way.

Iguazu Falls is not just another waterfall.

“But I’ve been to a few waterfalls so...” is the resistance I hear all the time but Iguazu is NOT just a waterfall.

It’s a system of 200+ waterfalls spanning Brazil and Argentina’s border. It takes two days to properly explore all of it.

It will ruin you for all other waterfalls. 👏🏻

🌿 Quick things you need to know:

- I recommend going for at least 2 days, one for each side of the falls.

- Base yourself in Puerto Iguazu in Argentina, hire a driver or take the bus to both sides.

- For the best driver, send a message to Guillermo de la Rosa - Guillermo is the absolute best!

- You do need a visa for Brazil if you’re visiting from the US, Canada, or Australia but it’s good for up to 5-10 years (depending on the visa your given, your country of origin) and you can apply online.

- Iguazu is great year round but I prefer winter for milder temps (this is the jungle y’all). Avoid Argentina school breaks and long weekends to avoid crowds (Christmas through February, the last two weeks of July).
