There is comfort in calm, kindness, and community during difficult times. May this bring some peace, some relief, and a steadier path ahead.

A proper welcome moment at Jeddah Duty Free, King Abdulaziz International Airport.

This sea inspired installation has been the focal point as you enter the space since September 2025, built by Art for Art Studio, and it still looks fresh. Bold colour, coral forms, and that glowing digital tree create a real sense of place, very Jeddah, proud Red Sea energy, with fixtures that have clearly earned their keep.

A fine reminder that travel retail does not need to shout to be memorable, it simply needs a story you can feel as you walk in.

From the copper and gold tree to the window displays, every detail feels properly considered.

And yes, the Master Watchmaker mascot (AKA Jean-Marc) popped up again, tucked into the décor with the sweetest little Christmas hat.

25 years ago, I was flipping through a book about the Burj Al Arab… never imagining I’d one day be working inside it.

Back in the early 2000s, I was a Visual Merchandiser at Harrods. During my lunch breaks, I’d wander into the book department and pore over interior design books. One day, I picked up a coffee table book dedicated to the Burj Al Arab, newly opened and absolutely dazzling.

I remember thinking, what an extraordinary place.

Fast forward twenty five years, and I now have the privilege of working there with one of my favourite retailers. The hotel still has that same grandeur, from the gold finishes to the stunning floral displays in reception.

It’s a full circle moment that reminds me why I love what I do.
