Honestly, not that Shadab deserves to be in the ODI team, but I'd still have less of a problem with him if they were using him for his batting and used him as a part-time bowler like Mike Hesson tried to claim. 4-5 overs in between is still fine. But you can't keep giving him 9-10 overs and try to cover his poor bowling figures by saying he's mainly in the team for his batting. In this series, he's bowled on dream pitches for spinners & finished with an average of 69. And the 2 wickets that helped improve his average were of the No.8 & No.10 batsmen.

His batting in this series was good. You can't complain on that front. But the reason his inclusion stings more is because his bowling comes as part of the package. Take that away & he becomes less of a liability.

✅️ In PAK (2022) - Pakistan won 2-1
✅️ In AUS (2024) - Pakistan won 2-1
✅ In PAK (2026) - Pakistan won 2-1

Wasn't as easy of a series as fans think. On extremely spin-friendly pitches, Australia had a quality spin attack.

A good win Alhumdulilah. But the type of pitches used & not giving 5 players a single opportunity was really disappointing.

Shadab & Samad did really well to finish the game off.
