- TRX Overhead Squats are a great way to strengthen upper and lower body muscles, increase mobility and challenge coordination—training aspects that all athletes can keep improving.

While the TRX Overhead Squat is unique because of the self-imposed level of resistance (you have to pull back on the straps while reaching overhead), it offers similar benefits to other versions of Overhead Squats—but it really feels like no other!

Watch as NASM Master Instructors Ken Miller and Wendy Batts .batts13 team up to provide an explanation and demo. While Wendy makes it look easy, it’s loaded with challenge.

The TRX Overhead Squat is a movement that challenges technique, force, stability and grace—all in one. While pulling back on the TRX nylon weave with arms reaching overhead, and squatting, you’ve got to stabilize all the joints while generating force throughout the squat. That is a tall order!
