The team’s working hard to prepare everything for the new season, but we still have lots happening this month too! The Top Quiz is on every Tuesday, keelboat pursuit racing every Wednesday and Saturday, and some great specials + combo offers if you want a drink too!

Don’t forget to get yourself or your kids booked into the Sailing Centre, which is opening for the season on September 5 with a new term of Learn to Sail, plus a variety of adult courses for all abilities, on both dinghies and yachts!

We have some great boats in the Training Centre, but none are more iconic than the Optimist ⛵

The Opi (as it’s affectionately known) is lightweight, easy to control, and and hard work to capsize - all ideal traits for a training boat. It’s also one of the most competitive sailing classes worldwide, so it’s the definition of low barrier to entry, but high skill ceiling.

Our Opi’s will be back in the water from 5 September, when the first term of Youth Learn to Sail kicks off! We’ve got courses for all abilities, so head to our bio to book your spot

Preparations are well underway at DOSC for the 2nd Kidzink Pearl Cup! ⛵

Right now, the team is deep into the planning phase: finalising the Notice of Race, Sailing Instructions, risk assessments, and all the behind-the-scenes details that make an international regatta possible.

And that’s just the beginning...

Some snaps from Sailors Route 3 today 📸

The Stuckey Summer Series is going strong, with 13 boats out racing this afternoon! A northerly breeze of 10–15 knots made for a welcome cooling effect on the beats, while the downwind legs reminded everyone just how warm a Dubai summer can be! Well done to everyone who got out there.

There’s been a great turnout for the summer racing so far, with the H Cup running throughout June, the final Sailors Route next Saturday, and August seeing the start of the Summer Sizzler series. If you can’t make Saturdays, the Wednesday Evening Pursuit Race is still running every week, with the first warning signal at 5pm.

Whether you’re a regular on the start line or thinking about joining for the first time, there’s still plenty of racing left this summer. Grab your crew, get your boat ready, and be part of the summer racing ⛵

The DF95 fleet has really taken off here at DOSC! What started as a way to keep sailing during a challenging time has quickly grown into one of the club’s fastest-growing communities ⛵️

Our RC fleet has gone from a few boats on the beach to more than 50 boats, with sailors of all ages and experience levels coming together on Thursdays and Sundays for some casual yet competitive racing.

Everyone is welcome; no matter if you’re new to sailing or regularly on the Commodore’s Cup podium. It’s a very friendly and social fleet, with everyone happy to share both knowledge and boats.

The future is bright, with plans for a season championship, special events, and maybe even the possibility of hosting a future DF95 World Championship in DOSC!

The summer may be the 'quiet' time at DOSC, plenty still happens to prepare, fix, and improve things for the next season!

We've pulled Committee Boat out, for some maintenence work. Over the next few weeks, she's going to have her engines serviced, along with the gearbox, throttle linkages, and steering system too. She'll also be checked for water ingress, drained, and have her antifoul inspected too.

All the work will be completed by the middle of August, where Committee Boat will be lifted back into the water ready for the first racing events of the season!
