Zahira College Colombo OBA UAE fellowship organization formed to foster social intercourse and fellowship the past students of ZCC & those interested in the welfare of the College.

The history of our association goes back to 2005 when a group of Old Zahirians felt the need for a union in UAE. Seven Zahirians formed a team led by Basheer Bongso for the Inter School Cricket Tournament organized by the Lanka Lions Sports Club in UAE. Since then, the group grew year on year. In 2007, the “Old Zahira UAE 90 Group” was formed. The scope of the membership for this group was those w

ho left the College from 1990 till 1999. In response to several requests from Old Zahirians in UAE and to have a wider platform, the 90 Group was converted to “Junior Old Boys Association” from which Old Zahirians who left the College prior to 1990 and after 1999 also joined us. Objectives:

To foster social intercourse and fellowship the past students of Zahira College Colombo & those interested in the welfare of the College. To establish unity among the Old Boys of the College and to foster in them a true feeling of loyalty to College. To collaborate where necessary with other affiliated bodies of Zahira College, in any projects or undertaking who have similar objectives to help alma mater. To collect and receive subscriptions, donations and other funds to apply same for the general purpose of the Association. To assist and support the College & its students in its effort to develop the quality and standard of education and other academic, sports and extra-curricular activities. To do all such other and further things as may be incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objectives. To establish a scholarship fund as a separate arm of the Association and it shall continue to be in operation as long as the Association is in existence. Motto:

The OBA is affiliated under the mother OBA in Sri Lanka and operates in UAE under the patronage of the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Dubai.

Shield Champions! 🏆🎱

Zahira College Colombo OBA UAE Silver Team won the Shield Championship after playing against Zahira College Green Team in the Inter-School Pool Tournament - Season 3, organized by DS Old Boys UAE.

More than 16 teams took part this year, making the competition strong and exciting. The Silver Team showed great skill, focus, and team spirit to win the shield title. 💪

Zahira College Colombo OBA UAE donated football equipment to Darussalam College, Maligawattha in support of the development of football from Under-10 to Under-20 categories.

This donation was fulfilled as a pledge from the recently concluded Zahira Soccer 7s, UAE tournament.

The equipment was officially handed over by Zahira College Colombo OBA President Mr. Haaziq Jaleel, along with Coordinator Mr. Azeez to the Principal of Darussalam College.

Zahira College Colombo OBA UAE successfully hosted the Zahira Soccer 7s 2026 on 17th January 2026 at Al Salam Community School, Qusais.

We were honoured to have Mr. Sarmad Al Zadjaly as our Chief Guest for this memorable event.

Congratulations to both champion teams for their outstanding performance and thank you to all teams, officials, families, and well-wishers who contributed to making this tournament a truly competitive and spirited gathering of the Zahira community in UAE.
