Ever seen a bird “fly” underwater? That’s exactly what an eagle ray looks like as it gracefully glides through the ocean! With its wing-like fins and spotted patterns, this incredible creature is a sight you’ll never forget.

Did you know?

Eagle rays can grow up to 16 feet wide!
Unlike many marine creatures, eagle rays are ovoviviparous—this means their babies hatch from eggs inside the mother and are born live.
Their diet consists of clams, oysters, and crustaceans, which they crush with their strong, flat teeth.
Why are they important?
Eagle rays play a vital role in maintaining the balance of marine ecosystems. By controlling shellfish populations, they help prevent overgrowth and keep reefs healthy.

These intelligent and playful creatures breathe air just like we do! Unlike fish, dolphins have lungs and must come to the surface to breathe through their blowhole. They can hold their breath for up to 10 minutes, making them incredible divers.

Dolphins are also highly social and often live in pods, using whistles and clicks to communicate with one another. When you're lucky enough to spot dolphins while diving or snorkeling, you’re witnessing the magic of one of the ocean’s most intelligent species.

💡 Fun Fact: Dolphins sleep with one eye open! They shut down half their brain at a time to rest while staying alert for predators.
