A few weeks in my homeland 🇨🇳

After our HYROX, we left to Beijing to see the Temple of Heaven, enjoyed Peking Duck, then took a 1 hour train to my dads home town in Dezhou ✨

Every time I go back to Dezhou, I’m filled with gratitude and admiration for my parents. It’s really remarkable to see how far they’ve come, from a small village, where food was scarce, to having built a life overseas for my sister and I, and supported us beyond what we ever could imagine (last slide is his families bedroom, the window now has glass but it use to be paper).

We then headed on another 6.5 hour train ride (high speed 😳) to Xi’An to see the Terracotta Warriors!

We’re in Nanjing now to visit the war museums here before heading to Seoul, a very last minute plan ✨

My first HYROX mixed doubles done in China 🇨🇳 , and one of the most memorable, fun and painful experiences 😍🤍

I remember my partner and I one day out, sniffling away in our hotel room, realizing it wasn’t the most optimal thing to have travelled across 4 different countries in 3 weeks before competing in this 😂 we were pretty worn down and hadn’t touched a ski erg in over 3 weeks by the time we got to the event 😅

However, going through that together, showing up and still pushing each other to our limits, made the whole event even more worth remembering.

During the race, I felt like I was running at a snails pace, so it was such a surprise for me to see our splits after the race, and to see I’d done a 3:56min/k lap! 🥹 I’ve only ever done that once in an interval training run, and definitely not on tired legs, without the help of a treadmill forcing me forwards 🥹

I’m excited to see what we can do next time, with more training under our belt, less travelling before the event (😂), and am chasing after that sub 1:10 🥳

A year ago, Joyce was intimidated by the gym.

She didn’t know how to cook. She’d never traveled alone.

Today? She lifts confidently. Prepares her own meals. Just booked her second solo trip.

Our client has lost over 41lbs, but more importantly, she’s gained self-confidence, self-love, and a fitness journey that empowers rather than overwhelms her 🥹

When we first spoke, she’d already tried countless diets, classes, and coaches, yet weight loss still felt impossible.

1 day out from HYROX Shanghai 🇨🇳🫶

We’ve just arrived in China from Queenstown (clips are from there)!

The travelling around hasn’t been the most optimal in perfecting our training in these last 3 weeks before our HYROX, and we’re both a bit under the weather (queenstown was freezing 🥶😂 given we are accustomed to Dubai heat 😅), but regardless, we’re excited to show up and just give it our all ✨

Not one workout or run has been missed, despite all the travel, so regardless of our time tomorrow, I’m really proud of having been able to give my best to all my runs, workouts and navigate food the best we can whilst travelling (low key ate many roast chickens and rice / bread on repeat to get our protein and carbs in 😂)

There’s only 2 things you really need, when it comes to getting a toned, healthy body.

1️⃣ Follow a Personalised and progressive weight training program
2️⃣ Hit the macros and nutrients your body needs specifically to reach your goals

When you get these 2 things right, and stay consistent with it, you’ll realize that, most of the problems and challenges you’ve faced with your body, health and fitness, disappear.
