🔬It could be tricky when determining the amount of carbohydrates you should eat but here’s one simple way of breaking it down. It’s important to know that every gram of protein is 4 cal, every gram of carbs is 4 cal, and every gram of fat is 9 cal

🏁The first thing you want to do is figure out your calorie goal, from there it allows you to fill in your calorie goals based on the above formula for each category.

🍖1g of protein per pound of your body weight is sufficient, especially if you are in maintenance or a surplus of calories. The deeper your calorie deficit goes at times it’s appropriate to go up to about 1.4g of protein per pound of your body weight. This is when you’re on very low calories and extremely lean. Studies have shown going any higher than that doesn’t yield much benefit, and you’re better off giving the rest of those calories to the carbohydrate bucket

🧈When you want to figure out your fat intake. In reality, you just want to make sure you’re getting at least the bare minimum. This macronutrient can vary based on personal preference. Some people feel much better on higher fats than others. Keeping it in the above range displays a safe place to go. Sometimes when attempting to reach extremely lean levels you may dip below the .3 low range for short periods of time,

🍞Now that you figured out how much protein & fat your intaking, you just need to do the math and figure out how many calories you are intaking from those categories. From there you subtract those calories from your daily total calorie budget, Whatever remaining calories you have left should be given to carbohydrates.

💪🏼Carbohydrates help with recovery, energy, performance, and have anabolic properties. So wasting calories on extra protein and extra fat that does not give you any physical benefit towards your body composition goal and will simply be a waste of calories.

💡This is a basic guideline but it could work well for most people, obviously everyone is an individual so there could be some variance but stick to this and you will be good to go for the most part.
