For more than 34 years the Gulf has been our home—many of those years here in the UAE. This is where our family has built its life, and it is a place we are deeply proud to call home. In moments like these, staying, contributing, and standing alongside the community feels like the most meaningful way to show loyalty and respect.
With so much attention focused on banks and finances across the world right now, my thoughts turned to another kind of bank, the blood bank. The need for blood does not pause after Ramadan; in times of uncertainty it becomes even more important. Today Karen and I returned to donate, as regular donors, and once again we were welcomed with warmth and kindness.
Nurse Hyam, who has been caring for my donations since 2017 and supported me through my 2020 donation, greeted us like family. She made the experience special, even asking for a photo together. Her smile, and the familiar UAE hand gesture she shared with us, captured something powerful about this country—the feeling that community here truly looks after one another.
That gesture immediately reminded me of the UAE’s three-finger salute introduced by Sheikh Mohammed: Win, Victory, Love. It perfectly reflects the spirit we felt today.
So today we gave back in a small way, and we hope it encourages others to do the same. Perhaps each of us can invite three people to continue the chain—one representing Win, one Victory, and one Love. In that way the spirit of support continues to move through our community.
