🌊 Not comfortable putting the face in the water? Here’s where we start.
When teaching a young beginner, the first goal is not to make them submerge immediately. It’s to build comfort, trust, and confidence in the water.
In this session, I’m working with a 4-year-old who is not yet comfortable putting her face in the water. Rather than forcing the skill, we start with simple blowing exercises and allow her to become comfortable at her own pace.
The goal is to:
• Help her become more comfortable with the water
• Introduce the idea of putting her face closer to the water
• Keep the experience fun and relaxed
• Build confidence without pressure
• Allow her to progress at her own pace
These may look like small steps, but for a beginner, they can make a big difference.
The goal is not to force the skill, but to help the child feel confident enough to learn it.
